The Academic Coordinator will provide course coordination for financial accounting and audit courses.  He/she will be responsible for checking for, and responding to, tickets posted in the Faculty of Business' online customer management system.  The incumbent will also be required to carry out all duties associated with the course coordination as per Athabasca University policies.

In the role of successfully delivering the assigned course, the Academic Coordinator will be responsible for academic experting; assignment and exam marking; conducting seminars, workshops, and laboratories as required; student record keeping; aspects of course development that may be needed; and maintenance and revision as per Faculty of Business (FB) requirements.  The incumbent will be working through the FB student support center, supervising academic experts and evaluating student performance.   Thus, candidates must be familiar with the FB’s online systems of course delivery and related student services.

This is a tenure track appointment.  Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience, supplemented by a generous benefits package.


A minimum educational qualification is a master’s in business; doctoral qualification is preferred.  The successful candidate will have a professional accounting designation, industry experience, and evidence of excellent teaching ability. Experience in distance learning and familiarity with digital teaching technologies are preferred assets. Demonstrated research interest is considered an asset.
