Reporting to the CISO/Digital Security Office, the Digital Security Office Management Officer (DSecOMO) will coordinate the operational administration activities of the Digital Security Office in support of functional priorities such as assisting in operational planning, initiatives, and organizational development processes. The DSecOMO will assist in maximizing the effective coordination of the Digital Security Office with respect to workflow, scheduling, teaming, budget, communications, and events.

The DSecOMO creates necessary ad hoc reports, leads briefings, creates presentations, and responds to DSecO operational issues under the guidance of the CISO and/or Director, Digital Security Office. The incumbent provides operational guidance to the CISO/DSecO and develops detailed work plans for the completion of tasks while acting as project coordinator for DSecO projects that are key to AU's cybersecurity success.

The incumbent shares operational Digital Security office status updates as needed with Manager, Digital Strategy Architecture and Governance, CISO, Director, Digital Security Office and Digital Security Program Project Manager in support of AU goals; and working with the Security Awareness Analyst and the Manager, Technical Services Training shall coordinate cybersecurity training and development initiatives for the DSecO team.

The DSecOMO will be the primary coordinating liaison with AU's audit, compliance, privacy, and regulatory functions and will share reporting on operational deliverables required to fulfill the Digital Security Program's audit reporting accountabilities including preparation of quarterly implementation status updates on Internal Audit recommendations assigned to the Digital Security Office.



  • Minimum of five years' experience in the operational administrative activities of a Compliance or Legal division of corporate or public sector organization, or a Security or Compliance operational administrative role in IT required.
  • AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification required, or the commitment to complete certification within 2 years of date of hire.
  • AWS Certified Security Specialty certification preferred.
  • Minimum of five years' experience in another IT function preferred.
  • Minimum of five years' experience with operational administration as it relates to regulatory compliance, cybersecurity frameworks and standards (ISO27000, COBIT, NIST 800, etc.) preferred.
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) preferred.
  • Diploma or degree in computer science, management, or engineering, recognized in Canada. In lieu of a degree or diploma, additional experience over and above the minimum requirement may be considered.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity risk management and risk mitigation strategies or desire to learn the operational administrative coordination for these strategies preferred.
  • Ability to communicate operational administrative risks effectively.
  • Diplomatic negotiation skills to negotiate resources, changes, issues, budgets, and timelines.
  • Passionate about customer service excellence.
  • Multi-tasking ability, must be comfortable with simultaneously managing multiple initiatives.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, leadership, motivational, organizational, and planning skills.
  • Resourceful, creative, attentive to detail, self-directed and self-motivated.
