The Position

Reporting through the Bachelors of Nursing (BN) Program Director to the FHD Dean, the Academic Coordinator has 2 key areas of responsibility. They include:

Service to the Community: Participation in the life of Athabasca University and the community of which it is a part.

Teaching and Learning Evaluation: The faculty member will be responsible for developing, teaching and evaluating undergraduate and graduate level courses in the BN Program.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will hold a minimum of a Master's in nursing (MN or MSN) and be eligible for registration as a Registered Nurse in Alberta. Preference may be given to those applicants who have current medical-surgical clinical experience. The candidate will demonstrate an ongoing commitment to  to growing their skills, learning, and contributing across teaching and service. They are an innovative and reflective educator, and will have some experience in the online learning environment. Demonstrated experience or potential to both lead and work respectfully and effectively as part of larger teams is essential. Openness and dedication to developing their skills and potential beyond areas of past or ongoing strength or success will be expected and fostered.
