The Business Requirement Analyst’s (BAs) role is focussed on elicitation, analysis, and validation of business needs towards the production of requirements documentation and deliverables. The intention of this position is to support academic and administrative stakeholders in the articulation of functional process needs into clear and useable documentation and tools that can be purposed towards business process or digital systems transformation.

The Business Analyst will also be responsible for conducting functional reviews with stakeholders from different business areas and faculties within the University, gather and analyze requirements, document business process and requirements, and create or assist in the development of process maps of current and future state.

The needfulness of this position is to improve AU’s ability to capture and appropriately document its changing business requirements has a direct impact on its ability to successfully implement not only systems change, but ensure new systems design meets the evolving needs as required by IMAGINE & RISE plans.

Qualifications:

  • College diploma or university degree in the field of business administration, computer science, finance, or information systems and 3 years related work experience.
  • Business analyst certification (such as IIBA, PBA-PMI, IQBBA or IREB based certifications) preferred.
  • Experience with business and technical requirements analysis, elicitation, modeling, verification, and methodology development.
  • Experience participating in the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, or products.
  • Experience with Business Process Modelling Notation, and/or other formal business process systems
  • Ability to create systematic and consistent requirements specifications in both technical and user-friendly language.
  • Ability to apply statistical and other research methods into systems issues and products as required.
