Athabasca University's Learning Services Tutorial Department is seeking an Academic Expert for the following course:


Finance 249 - Personal Investing
 

Qualifications and Experience Required:  

 

Qualifications and Experience Required: Required educational qualifications include a Master's degree in a Finance, Financial Services, Accounting or related discipline, and a CFP (Certified Financial Planner (Canada)) or CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant) designation. Required work experience includes a minimum of 5 years teaching or marking experience in a Undergraduate or Master's level program.

 

Candidates should have prior experience with learning management systems such as MuchLearn, Desire to Learn, Moodle, and other educational software packages and applications. The successful candidate will have strong communication skills with students from a diverse background, the ability to work under pressure and solid time management skills.

 

The successful candidate will have subject matter expertise and be responsible for providing academic assistance to students, for marking assignments, and for assigning and recording final grades. Teaching experience at a post-secondary level is required. Experience in distance learning and familiarity with digital teaching technologies and online course delivery is preferred. Experience with adult education and Moodle online course delivery is considered an asset. 

Along with the relevant academic credentials as mentioned above, this position requires excellent communication, organizational, administration and online/computer skills. The successful candidate should have demonstrated ability to maintain a high academic standard, maintain accurate student records, and return students' work promptly and within the University's required service standards. Candidates must own or have access to a computer and internet with the capability to communicate with the University and students and the capability to run any applications required to perform tutorial support. Non-doctoral prepared employees: $239.66 prorated per block, per biweekly pay and/or $30.55 per hour.

Doctoral prepared employees: $249.24 prorated per block, per biweekly pay and/or $31.76 per hour.
