Athabasca University's Faculty of Science and Technology is recruiting to the position of Academic Coordinator, Computing and Information Systems.

This is a part-time (0.2FTE) term position ending July 2027.

The Position:

Athabasca University is hiring a 0.2 FTE Academic Coordinator for a 1-year term position, with expertise in broad areas of Computing and Information Systems.

The Academic Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the teaching, administration, and maintenance of the following undergraduate and graduate courses:

The Academic Coordinator duties include handling of student issues (grade appeals, course challenges, exam reviews, exams delivery when required, transfer credit assessment requests, academic misconduct), assessments, course revisions, and supervising the team of Academic Experts (AEs) who are responsible for assisting students and marking. Service to the School of Computing and Information Systems and the Faculty of Science and Technology through participation in meetings and committees is also required in the position.

Qualifications:

A minimum of a Master's degree (PhD preferred) in Computer Science, Computing and Information Systems or a related field is required. Extensive experience in online learning and familiarity with AU specific digital teaching and administration technologies (Brightspace, GreyMatter, Grades, Much Learning, MS Teams, SharePoint) would also be desired assets.
