The Position:
Athabasca University is hiring a 0.2 FTE Academic Coordinator for a 1-year term position, with expertise in broad areas of architecture and/or engineering.
The Academic Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the teaching, administration, and maintenance of the following Graduate courses:
The Academic Coordinator duties include handling of student issues (grade appeals, course challenges, exam reviews, exams delivery when required, transfer credit assessment requests, academic misconduct), assessments, course revision, and supervising the team of Academic Experts (AEs) who are responsible for assisting students and marking. Service to the RAIC Centre for Architecture and the Faculty of Science and Technology through participation in meetings and committees is also required in the position.
Qualifications:
A Master's or PhD degree in architecture, engineering or a related field is required. A license as an architect or engineer would be an asset. Demonstrated expertise in topics related to the courses listed above. Extensive experience in online learning and familiarity with AU-specific digital teaching and administration technologies (Brightspace, GreyMatter, Grades, Much Learning, MS Teams, SharePoint) would also be desired assets. English proficiency is a must.
